Strain Clamp

 

 

Strain clamp refers to the hardware used to fix the wire to withstand the tension of the wire and hang the wire to the tension string group or tower. Tensile clamps are used to fix conductors or lightning protection wires to the tensile insulator strings of non-linear pole towers. They serve as anchors and are also used to fix the guy wires of the stay pole towers.

 

Strain clamps can be roughly divided into two types according to their different structures and installation conditions.

 

Type 1: Tension-resistant wire clamps must withstand all the tensile force of the conductor or lightning protection wire. The clamp's holding force is not less than 90% of the rated tensile strength of the installed wire or lightning protection wire, but it does not serve as a conductor. This type of wire clip can be removed after the wire is installed and used separately. This type of clamp includes bolt-type strain clamps and wedge-type strain clamps.

Type 2: In addition to bearing all the tensile force of the wire or lightning protection wire, the strain clamp also serves as a conductor. Therefore, once this type of clamp is installed, it cannot be disassembled and is also called a dead clamp. Since it is a conductor, the installation of the clamp must be carried out carefully in compliance with the relevant installation operating procedures.
